 Our parent company has been in business since 1995, with an initial focus on software development. As we began developing more Web applications over time, we eventually saw the need to play a greater role in hosting customer sites. We began with shared hosting accounts, moved to using reseller accounts, and eventually began to run our own servers. In March 2003, the interAdvantage hosting service was launched with the aim of offering high-quality, feature-rich hosting to the public at affordable prices.

Along the way, we have been customers of many different hosting companies, so we are able to see this business from the customer's perspective. We also have competent PHP and Java programmers on staff who understand what Web developers need and who are able to help customers diagnose and fix problems in their Web applications.

 Here are some of the main principles which shape our approach to the hosting business:

Hosting is a service business. We believe that quality of service is the primary distinguishing factor between Web hosting companies.
We target a high level of service. We are looking for long-term relationships with customers, so all our decisions are made with the goal of providing a reliable, feature-rich, high-performance, and well-supported service.
Uptime is a priority. We utilize 3 levels of redundant monitoring on our servers to maximize uptime. Most software problems are automatically caught and fixed by the servers themselves. But when a server goes down, instant notification goes to our staff and to the data center staff, both of whom are authorized to fix the problem.
Support should be timely and helpful. Support is an integral part of our offerings, not an afterthought. We expect customers to need assistance, and make every attempt to answer support requests in a timely, friendly, and helpful manner. We are happy to answer questions, help you move or upload your site, install scripts, and diagnose and fix scripting errors.
We include extras. All of our hosting plans include extras that are expensive to provide, such as nightly off-server backup, server-based virus scanning of incoming and outgoing e-mail, and support for JavaServer Pages and Servlets.
We are not the cheapest host. Many hosting companies nowadays sell below cost and then either go out of business, overfill their servers, or cut corners on service. While we try to keep our prices affordable, we charge enough to ensure that our business will be viable long-term, our servers do not need to be overloaded, and we can remain responsive to support requests.
 We presently use a variety of Intel Core2Duo, Dual Xeon and Pentium IV servers. All have dual hard drives, with one drive reserved for storing on-server backups.

The server presently accepting new accounts has the following specifications:

2.0 GB memory
100 Mbps uplink port
Dual SATA-II hard drives
 We keep our servers at three different data centers in Dallas, Texas: Colo4Dallas, The Planet, and SoftLayer. These data centers are truly state-of-the-art, with complete redundancy in power, fire suppression, HVAC, security, and network connectivity.
